Hala Tree began 6 years ago when the owners bought the abandoned coffee farm and restored 2-3 acres of the original trees that are more than 60 years old. The estate now has a total of 20 acres of award winning coffee.
During picking season it takes 20 pickers on the farm at a time to hand pick and sort beans at every steps of the process. Only small batches are roasted to make sure the coffee is always fresh. This provides the best possible flavor in the cup; something our coffee club subscribers always benefit from!
Hala Tree Estate prides themselves in using every part of the coffee tree they possibly can. The leaves and skin of the coffee cherry are used to create their organic Cascara tea. Not to be confused with Cascara Sagrada which is a different type of tea with the same name, but made with Chittem Bark. Coffee Cherry tea is extremely high in antioxidants and is also anti-inflammatory. It does have some natural caffeine, but not quite as much as regular coffee made with the bean ;-).
